Happy 1st Birthday Annabel’s

Happy 1st Birthday Annabel’s

Another day another star studded event, albeit in its infancy Annabel’s is considered the most affluent and challenging place to be.

The first birthday party started yesterday evening with the usual string of celebrity A lists and the first of many formidable acts, Wyclef Jean hit the stage and sung his most heart-wrenching lyrics, ( Killing Me Softly, Sweetest Girl and Ready or Not)

In true Mayfair style, this birthday party will last a month and feature some fun, crazy and exotic events.

None the less, we bask in our favourite spot in town and revel in watching the next chapter of the Annabel’s story unfold, building on its legacy as one of the best clubs in the world.

St Moritz

St Moritz – little discretion is needed when documenting such an affluent resort.

Located in the southern Alps of Switzerland, within the Engadine valley, St Moritz is the oldest winter sports resort in the world.

With a combination of five star mountain restaurants, high-altitude skiing and designer shops, not to mention the abundance of luxury chalets in St Moritz, it is no surprise that a variety of famous faces, Indian royals ( including the Ambani bash) and wealthy clientele are attracted to the resort.

From the Snow Polo World Cup and ‘White Turf’ horse racing, to the Gourmet Festival and the Engadin Snow Golf World Cup, St Moritz has a worldwide reputation for exceptional winter entertainment.

We stayed at the infamous Kulm Hotel which is centrally located and homed to the most spectacular spa and afternoon tea views. During our visit we focused on meeting clients from Lugano, Milan and Zurich and entertained in the most picturesque meeting spots.

Top recommendations are (which aren’t east to get, so reserve early and befriend your concierge)

  • King’s Club at Badrutt’s Palace – a wonderland of popcorn making, Michelin star food and exotic dancers.
  • CheCha – laden in Bogner and matching his n hers ski’s? CheCha is the lunch spot to be seen, live romantic renditions and the sweet smell of the local Kaiserschmarrn desert. With blazon sunshine and an Aperol spritz in hand, it is certainly a lunch spot not to be missed.
  • La Baracca – dance the night away and beware on the way out! Music, fun and deliciously hearty food, start early because it will be dawn before you leave. The ultimate small but hot spot!

The season is still young, we highly recommend St Moritz as the luxury winter spot

How to hire the perfect Luxury Brand Hostess?

Hiring the perfect hostess is a very difficult task at the best of times, especially when you are in the luxury sector. A Hostess is normally the first person your clients will see and therefore sets the tone for your company. To ensure you hire the perfect hostess then consider the following three tips:

  • Excellent common sense, this may seem a general point but common sense is vital for a hostess. There is no handbook for handling basic questions, aggravated customers and sometimes direct or frustrating comments. Common sense is so important so you know someone is responsible and can truly handle a general situation well, ways to spot this include asking what your hostess would do in certain situations in your place of work and see how they respond
  • Personality, when hiring its always key to focus on the culture before the qualifications. However, your brand is seen ensure your hostess obtains these characteristics and fits in with your team.
  • Clean presentation, being well groomed as a hostess is key to ensure you are neat and tidy at all times. To spot this we look if the ladies who have clean nails, neat hair and are dressed in smart fresh business wear. Presentation is key as statistics show around 63% of people judge one another firstly by looks. (Crazy but the small neat touched do matter)

The World Economic Forum – Davos

As the most enviable week of the year descends upon us, in contrary to last year’s topic of Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World, the leaders of Davos are discussing the impact of Globalisation.

In our world of incessant spending and manifesting materialism, I wanted to note a few topics and the harsh impact impeding.

Surviving mass adoption- #BlockBaseDavos

The most important issue which has arisen for the success of blockchain and the digital payment system.

Being a decentralized and an open-sourced ecosystem gives value in contribution with potential partnerships and leverage of a bigger pool of talent and community. Some governing bodies, institutions and infrastructures have positioned themselves to create products that have a better chance of mass adoption, however, in contrary some deep rooted democratic leaders fundamentally lack in identifying leaks in its business model and taking early action.

SEforALL

Electricity is more readablily available than ever, or so it seems, the annual investment in 2015 and 2016 was valued at $8bn per year, was injected into grid-connected fossil fuel plants, wind power, and solar photovoltaics. However, connection to the grid is just the beginning, without a sizeable addition of reliable generation capacity, we are still facing complete disproportion, in specific to those located in sub-Saharan Africa.

Mental Health 4.0

The global momentum around mental health offers exciting opportunities, but it also needs to be properly harnessed, as estimated by 2030, the cost to the global economy of all mental health problems could amount to $16 trillion.

Some issues fuelling the crisis are: few commercial incentives for the pharmaceutical industry and inadequate and out dated medical interventions. At the highest levels of government, private sector and civil society, leaders are stepping up to commit to promoting positive dialogues around mental health.

Both anxiety disorders and depression trump the pack in health issues that are falling short of the systems that have not yet adequately responded to the burden of the mental disorders.

These are a mere few topics discussed at the Forum, Corporate Angels are in attendance for all four days and will keep abreast of all discussions, we have all faith in 2019’s transformational impacts of new technologies and data.
